The Diesel Technology Forum (DTF) announced Innospec Inc. as a new member. The Forum is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the current and future role of diesel engines, equipment and fuels. Innospec is a specialty chemical company with employees in 25 countries around the world.

“The future for internal combustion engines depends on innovations in combustion and the quality and performance of the fuels that they use. Innospec’s Fuel Specialties fuel additives deliver a wide range of solutions designed to enhance fuel quality,” said Andrew McKnight, vice president of technical services at Innospec.

Allen Schaeffer, executive director of DTF, highlighted that in the future, both advanced internal combustion engines’ renewable and conventional liquid fuels need to possess strong capabilities. These fuels should allow for achieving even lower emissions and higher efficiency across a broad range of operational situations. Whether referring to usual petroleum-based fuels or biodiesel, having the correct fuel performance will be crucial for ensuring a positive outlook for internal combustion engines, Schaeffer said.
